    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry-type joint material having weather resistance durable to outdoor use, small in environmental load, and excellent in adhesion with a silicone-based sealant even without giving pretreatment for enhancing adhesion with the sealant before application.
      SOLUTION: This dry-type joint material is obtained by heat fusing a flexible part comprising a multilayer structure polymer particle and a rigid core part comprising a thermoplastic resin other than polyolefinic resin having higher hardness than the flexible part, where the multilayer structure polymer particle has a rubber component layer (I) formed by copolymerization of a monomer mixture of an acrylate and a multifunctional monomer and a thermoplastic resin component layer (II) formed by polymerization of a monomer comprising a methacrylate, and further (1) the thermoplastic resin component constituting the outermost layer of the multilayer structure polymer particle has a glass transition temperature of ≥90°C and (2) a treatment for enhancing adhesion to the above sealant is given to the joint material.

      SOLUTION: The method for producing a (meth)acrylate-styrene copolymer comprises performing bulk polymerization or solution polymerization of a monomer mixture including 80-20% by mass of a (meth)acrylate-based monomer, 20-80% by mass of a styrene-based monomer, and 0-15% by mass of a vinyl-based monomer copolymerizable therewith by use of a polymerization initiator having a hydrogen drawing capability of 30% or less measured by α-methyl styrene dimer trapping method, performing the polymerization up to a conversion rate of 90% by mass or less, and removing a volatile component containing the monomers.
