    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium for a filter with a high trapping property and a long life, having a thin diameter of component fibers as compared with that for a conventional filter medium and free from elution of chemical substances and dropping-off of the fibers at the time of use.
      SOLUTION: The filter medium for a liquid filter is a laminated sheet of nano-fibers with an average fiber diameter of 10-1,000 nm produced by an electrostatic spinning method and a substrate of a nonwoven fabric or woven fabric composed of fibers with an average fiber diameter larger than 5 μm and satisfies all of the following conditions (1) to (3): (1) the average pore size is 0.1 to 10 μm; (2) the trapping efficiency of JIS 11 type dust is 90% or higher; and (3) the tensile strength B (kgf/15 mm) in the transverse direction to the vertical direction of the sheet to Metsuke A (weight per unit surface area) (g/m

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antibacterial nanofiber sheet having high antimicrobial activity due to inclusion of an antibacterial agent having a particle diameter larger than a single filament diameter, and preventing the antibacterial agent from easily dropping off.SOLUTION: The antibacterial nanofiber sheet is formed by an electrostatic spinning method. The antibacterial nanofiber sheet contains a nanofiber including an inorganic antibacterial agent having an average particle diameter that is larger than a single filament diameter of the nanofiber and smaller than 40 times the single filament diameter of the fiber. The nanofiber has a single filament diameter of 10 to 500 nm. Single filaments are prevented from sticking together and filming around single filament intersections where the nanofibers intersect.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soundproof material which is high in sound insulating performance and light in weight, and to provide a sound insulating fiber useful for the soundproof material.
      SOLUTION: The sound insulating fiber is constituted of thermoplastic resin and single-fiber fineness is adjusted to 5 dtexes or smaller and cross-sectional flattening is adjusted to 7 to 40. The thermoplastic resin may be polyvinyl alcohol resin, and for example, the fiber may be vinylon fiber or polyclar fiber. The fiber may contain stratified inorganic compound of a mass proportion of about 0.01 to 30% in the fiber and the face direction of the stratified inorganic compound may be oriented to the direction of the flat face of the fiber. The soundproof material may be prepared of nonwoven fabric which contain mass proportion of 50% or higher of the fiber. In the soundproof material, average apparent density may be 0.01 to 0.5 g/cm
      3 , and the mesh density may be about 30 to 500 g/m
      2 and permeability may be about 1 to 150 ml/cm
      2 /second.
