The diagonal member is deformed by receiving the axial force from the other end of the overhang member and the second column while the first column and the second column respectively receive the horizontal force and are deformed during an earthquake, and thus the vibration energy acting on the first column and the second column respectively during an earthquake is absorbed.

      SOLUTION: This tower-like structure comprises a tubular structure (core wall 2) which is extended upward from a foundation 5, a tower structure (steel tower 3) which is extended upward from the foundation 5 so as to surround the periphery of the tubular structure, and a damper 4 which connects the tubular structure and the tower structure together. The damper 4 is installed in such a manner as to be vertically inclined with respect to a horizontal plane 11. The damper 4 is equipped with a rod-like body 14 which is formed like a rod from an operating member and a tubular casing, making a relative linear motion. A one end-side attachment portion 17 of one end of the rod-like body 14 and the tubular structure, and the other end-side attachment portion 19 of the other end of the rod-like body 14 and the tower structure are provided in vertically-displaced positions. Thus, the operating member and the tubular casing are attached in such a manner that a direction, in which the operating member and the tubular casing make the relative linear motion, is set as a direction vertically inclined with respect to the horizontal plane 11.
