    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device which eliminates NOx from an exhaust gas and also eliminates nitrogen oxides (NOx) and fine particles (PM) from the exhaust gas at the same time.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas cleaning device includes a first porous electrode formed on one surface of a porous solid electrolyte having oxygen ion conductivity and a second porous electrode formed on the other surface of the same. The exhaust gas cleaning device allows an exhaust gas to pass therethrough, and the exhaust gas passing through the device is cleaned by applying a voltage to the electrodes on both surfaces. The first electrode on the exhaust gas inflow side is an anode, and the second electrode on the exhaust gas outflow side is a cathode. The first electrode contains a gadolinia-added ceria (GDC) and a conductor, and the second electrode contains a gadolinia-added ceria (GDC), a conductor, and an NOx occluding material. The first electrode and/or the second electrode is sloped so that the concentration of the conductor becomes lower toward the solid electrolyte.
