      SOLUTION: A bush 8 is fit on the outside periphery of a shaft part 7a of a support member 7, and a circular-arcuate cross-section support 10 is formed in the bush 8. The inside periphery of a torsion coil-spring 9 is brought into contact with the outside periphery of the support 10. With the contraction of the diameter of the spring 9, the support 10 is pressed on an inside cylinder part 4c of a rocking member 4, in order to restrain the rocking member 4 from inclining due to the load of the belt with respect to the axis 7a of the support member 7.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-tensioner having strong fixing force of a pressing plate of a friction plate and capable of maintaining a swing damping function of a pulley for a long time.
      SOLUTION: The pressing plate 6 having an inner fringe shape along an outer fringe shape of a locking part 1x is fitted into the locking part 1x provided at a tip of a support shaft part 1a of a support member 1, and a region including the whole projecting part of the locking part 1x (a halftone dot meshing part K) is caulked and swells in the radial direction to fix the pressing plate 6. Owing to this configuration, fixing force for the pressing plate 6 in the locking part 1x is improved when compared with a conventional auto-tensioner caulking method. Since amount of deformation of the caulked part K is small and occurrence of crack is prevented, durability of the caulked part K is improved.
