    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate copying with high productivity by detecting a size of a document to make a picture formable, even in the case that the size of fixed form can not be detected due to that sheets of document are loaded in disorder on a tray and due to that sheets of document of equal size are loaded in disorder thereon. SOLUTION: This picture forming device 1 comprises an automatic document feeder 2 having a first document size detection means S1 detecting the size of a document in a condition loading it in a document loading tray 200, a second document size detection means S2 detecting the size of fed document, and a document read part 3, and a picture forming part having a transfer material feeder means. The device 1 is further provided with a control means selecting and feeding a transfer material of concerned size in the case that document size information detected in the first document size detection means S1 is a size of fixed form, detecting a size of the document in the second document size detection means S2 in the case that the information is not the size of fixed form, and performing control so as to select and feed the transfer material of concerned size.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently from front and back images onto an image carrier and to transfer them to the front and back of a transfer material at the same time by allowing image formation on a toner-image receiving body to precede image formation on the photosensitive drum used for transfer to the front of the transfer material, by synchronization with the reading of an original document. SOLUTION: In a transfer area 14b, superimposed color-toner images as a back image on the photoreceptor drum 10 are transferred all at once onto the toner-image receiving body 14a, provided close to the photoreceptor drum 10, by means of a transfer unit 14c to which a voltage having the opposite polarity of toner is applied. In synchronization, in the transfer area 14b, with the back image formed on the toner-image receiving body 14a, the front image as superimposed color-toner images is formed onto the photoreceptor drum 10. Thus, because, the superimposed color-toner images are transferred all at once, color slippage of the toner images on the toner-image receiving body 14a, toner scatter and rub, etc., hardly occur, and satisfactory both-sided color- image-formation with less image-deterioration is performed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both-side images well-proportioned in image density arid a tone by changing an image forming condition, in accordance with the case a toner image is formed for performing a transfer to a second image carrying means or to one surface of a transfer material. SOLUTION: Front surface images on the periphery of a photoreceptor drum 10 are transferred to the front side of a recording paper P altogether by a transfer unit 14c to which a voltage having a polarity opposite to that of toner is applied. At this time, rear surface images on the periphery of a toner image receptor 14a exist on the toner image receptor 14a, without being transferred to the recording paper P. Then, the rear surface images on the periphery of the toner image receptor 14a are transferred to the rear side of the recording paper P altogether by a rear surface transfer unit 14g to which the voltage having the polarity opposite to that of the toner is applied. At this time, for adjusting the tone, a countermeasure on a printer part, side by changes in a potential by electrification by measurement with a potential sensor and process conditions such as image exposure light and a developing condition is taken according to the case the front or rear surface images are formed. Further, the change in an image processing part is possible as well.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently record the vertically fed images of front and rear surface on the front and rear surfaces of transfer material in a double-sided image forming device simultaneously performing fixing by providing toner images on the front and rear surfers of the transfer material. SOLUTION: An original E is carried on a platen glass 51 passing a paper feeding route constituted of carrying drums 54A, 54B and 54C, while the images of the rear surface is read in a state where a first mirror unit 57 and a second mirror unit 58 are moved from the initial position of scanning shown by broken lines to a stopping position shown by solid lines. Next, respective mirror units are returned to the initial position of scanning and a front surface image on the platen glass 51 is read from the top end side of the original D same as a rear surface image, and the picture signal of the rear surface image is electrically reversed in a main scanning direction, so that it is outputted to a device main body from a reverse direction. The rear surface image is formed at a first image carrying means at the device main body, and is transferred to a second image carrying means, and next the front surface image is formed on the first carrying means, and is fixed after transferring it on the front and rear surfaces of the transfer material by first and second transferring means.
