    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defrosting heater capable of preventing the danger of explosion by using it for defrosting a freezer using an inflammable refrigerant and a refrigerator having the defrosting heater.
      SOLUTION: A heating wire 22 is passed in an electrically insulated heat resistant tube 21, current passing wires 24 are connected to both end parts 22B of the heating wire, and both end opening parts of the heat resistant tube 21 are closed by sealing members 23. In particular, the outer diameter of the heating wire 22 is set smaller than the inner diameter of the heat resistant tube 21, and the both end parts 22B of the heating wire 22 are supported by the heat resistant tube 21 at the eccentric positions. Thus, the heating wire 22 forms, along the longitudinal direction of the heat resistant tube 21, a heating wire contact part 26 in contact with the inner wall of the heat resistant tube 21. Then, with the heating contact part 26 facing downward, the defrosting heater is horizontally disposed just below an evaporator installed in the refrigerator.
