    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus for root vegetables available at a low cost, having a compact size and enabling perfect arbitrary washing of each root vegetable.
      SOLUTION: The washing apparatus for root vegetables has the following structure: lower parts of parallelly installed washing brushes 11, 12 which have different rotational speeds from each other and rotates in a same direction, are submerged in washing water W; and a feeding port 21 for root vegetables G is formed on the side of the washing brush 11 having a higher rotational speed. Preferably, the washing brush 11 having the higher rotational speed is placed on a position below the installation position of the washing brush 12 having the slower rotational speed. Further preferably, a brush 23 for pressing the vegetables G is placed above both the washing brushes 11, 12.

CONSTITUTION:A packaging machine is equipped with a pool chamber 40 wherein a band B is temporarily reserved at the time of release when a band passage is not formed by a band guide 50 which is opened or closed by a band passage opening/closing means 60. For such a packaging machine, the band passage opening/closing means 60 is constituted by providing a rocking lever 75 of which the base end part 75a is axially attached to a top plate 40a of the pool chamber 40. Then, the actuating rod of a solenoid type actuator 80 for the feeding of a tying mechanism is connected to a rocking end part 75b of the rocking lever 75. By this method, a linear movement in the vertical direction of the actuator 80 is converted to a rotational movement of the rocking lever 75, and a holding roller 76 for feeding is made to approach or separate from a feed roller 78.

In this process, an ascent stop position and a descent stop position of the elevating member 10 are detected by means of a vertical proximity sensor, while the forward/backward movement positions of the fork 9 are detected by means of a forward/backward proximity sensor, and this detection is used for movement control.

CONSTITUTION: In an automatic packing machine in which an article to be packed is wound with a band and bonded at the overlap part thereof to be bound, an auxiliary band-removing device 60 is attached to a band guide 40 disposed inside a band guide arch part. The auxiliary band-removing device 60 comprising a band-fastening rod 61, a compression coil spring 62, and a rod support bracket 63 is disposed in a first corner part of the band guide 40. When the band guide 40 is moved from a band guide track position P1 to a retracted position P2 prior to a primary clamping operation, the movement of a band B is prevented by a top part 61a of the rod 61. As a result, the band B is forcibly pressed out of a guide groove 40a to be surely removed.
