    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2 component type dental impression material curable by a metathesis reaction.
      SOLUTION: This dental impression material includes base agent paste equipped with a first and second resin components containing each at least 2 cycloolefin groups per one molecule and curable by the metathesis reaction using a metathesis catalyst. The first resin contains a carboxylate backbone of a urethane polyether or urethane polyester which is terminated by the cycloolefin group, and the second resin contains a carboxylate backbone of an alkoxy-siloxane polyether or alkoxy-siloxane polyester which is terminated by the cycloolefin group. The metathesis catalyst can be a ruthenium carbene complex catalyst.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition curable by a metathesis reaction upon mixing its components and comprising an olefin-containing substrate, a metathesis catalyst, and a reaction control agent for slowing the progress of the metathesis reaction.
      SOLUTION: The metathesis catalyst is a ruthenium or osmium carbene complex catalyst having high activity and good stability in air. The catalyst is free of phosphine ligands. The reaction control agent is an organic compound containing carbon-carbon double and/or triple bonds and one or more group 14 atoms and is present in an amount effective to slow the progress of the metathesis reaction. Alternatively, the olefin-containing substrate may contain one or more oligomers or polymers having a >20 wt.% linear siloxane (Si-O-Si) skeleton tethered and/or end-capped with functional olefin groups, such as cycloalkenyl group.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dental restorative material having high condensability, low volume shrinkage, low shrinkage stress, etc., and excellent abrasion resistance by including a filler, a polymerizable acrylic monomer and a specific rheological modifier. SOLUTION: This dental restorative material is obtained by including (A) a filler, (B) a polymerizable acrylic monomer and (C) a rheological modifier in an amount effective in reducing the volume shrinkage of the dental restorative material at the time of polymerization, e.g. a hydroxy-functional polycarboxylic acid amide represented by the formula [R is a 6-60C aliphatic hydrocarbon or the like; R' is H, a 1-4C alkyl or the like; (x) is 1-3; (y) is 0 or 1; Z and Z' are each a different 2-6C alkylene free radical; Q is a 2-200C aliphatic hydroacrbon free radical; (n) is 2-3] [e.g. BYK-405 (R)]. In the above restorative material, the component C is preferably contained in an amount of about 0.1-1.5 wt.%. In addition to the above components, a phosphoric ester- based dispersing agent or a fluorocopolymer soluble in (meth)acrylate resins may be contained.
