    • PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of NO
      x easily and effectively by a method wherein fuel and combustion air are supplied into a furnace through separate ports respectively, and a flame is maintained by a flame maintaining burner.
      CONSTITUTION: A boiler 1 has the furnace 1a, a pair of heat exchangers 1b and 1c, an air preheater 2 and a chimney 3. The fuel is thrown into the furnace 1a through fuel supply ports 4a, 4b and 4c having fuel injection pipes and attached at the tip of a fuel supply line for denitration combustion. On the other hand, a combustion air is introduced into the furnace 1a via independent double-staged combustion air ports 5a, 5b and 5c. The flame maintaining burner 8 functions to stabilize the combustion within the furnace.
