The guide units 45, 44 are a chip joint 45 and an insert chip 44, respectively. Further, the electroslag welding apparatus includes a nozzle angle adjusting mechanism J around x-axis and a nozzle angle adjusting mechanism K around y-axis.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroslag welding apparatus and an electroslag welding method capable of reducing the heat input, and stabilizing the penetration by intensively and selectively melting a portion to be especially melted out of a base material facing a groove, and to provide a power supply nozzle therefor.
      SOLUTION: The power supply nozzle 1 for the electroslag welding comprises a nozzle body 2 and a welding tip 3. The nozzle body 2 is held so that its center axis is vertical. The welding tip 3 is inclined with respect to the center axis of the nozzle body 2, and a welding wire 4 delivered from its fore end is also constituted to extend in the direction inclined with respect to the center axis of the nozzle body 2.
