SOLUTION: The covering stripping device comprises a clad-peeling tool 10, which is provided with a clad-peeling tool main body 11, which has a cable holding portion 11e for holding a covered cable A, and with a clad-peeling blade 13, which is guided and supported by the main body 11 to make proceeding and receding movements to the cable holding portion 11e, and a rotation driving tool 20, which is provided with a rotation disk 21, in the center of which a cable storing space 21a for storing the covered cable A is formed in such a way that the cable can be inserted and removed, and with a rotation-transmitting means 30, which is mounted on the top end of a remote control rod 2 and transmits the rotation of a rotating shaft of the remote control rod 2 to the rotation disk 21. The clad-peeling tool 10 is mounted on the rotation disk 21 in such a way that the center axis of the covered cable A supported by the main body 11 is positioned at the rotation center of the rotation disk 21.
