    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing stockings enabling clear display of a standard part as a benchmark in sewing or cutting, and also easily and reliably checking whether or not the sewing or cutting is performed at prescribed portions.
SOLUTION: The method for producing a stockings includes: knitting toe line-corresponding parts 21a-21e, toe borderline-corresponding parts 22a-22d, a thumb inner end-corresponding part 23a and a small toe outer end-corresponding part 23b into plain knit; and knitting the remaining parts at the end part 20a of a cylindrical body 2 into lipped tuck knitting, when knitting the end part 20a of the cylindrical body 2. Thereafter, the stockings are made by sewing the parts based on the knitting and cutting out the stockings along the sewing line.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a panty hose developing a longitudinal stripe pattern without applying a print to the leg part by carrying out the loop-knitting in such a manner as to continuously form a high-density part and a low-density part over nearly the whole length in the longitudinal direction of the leg part. SOLUTION: The leg part 2 of the objective panty hose 1 is produced by the loop-knitting of a stretchable opaque support yarn and a non-stretchable transparent grey yarn (e.g. nylon yarn) in a manner such that each course of the support yarn and each course of the grey yarn are loop-knitted to produce a density variation to form a high-density part A and a low-density part C in the circumferential direction of the leg part 2. The high-density part A and the low-density part C of each support yarn course are continued over the almost whole length of the leg part 2 in the longitudinal direction. An intermediate density part B having a gradation function may be placed between the high-density part A and the low-density part C of the leg part 2.
