    • PURPOSE:To correct the effect due to deviation of a carrier frequency automatically by calculating vectors of signals after detection of delay and controlling a coefficient of a vector multiplier through the use of an output data after vector calculation and a data after discrimination of a threshold level. CONSTITUTION:An output of a delay detector 100 is subject to A/D conversion for each symbol in the timing of threshold level discrimination, that is, when an eye pattern is opened at maximum, vector calculation is applied to the result of A/D conversion to correct a deviation corresponding to the carrier frequency by shifting the deviation reversely. Vector multiplier outputs I1, Q2 and outputs I2, Q2 of threshold level discrimination circuits 104, 105 are inputted to a coefficient control circuit 106. A loop of the coefficient control circuit 106 is operated to have the relation of 2pi fT=-DELTAtheta and controls the carrier frequency that its deviation is always 0, then its is possible to make the effect of the deviation of the carrier frequency for each burst sufficiently small.

    • PURPOSE: To estimate an accurate error rate under various error environments by calculating the dispersion of the data obtained by applying the A/D conversion to the output of a detector in the reproduction timing, estimating an error environment based on the calculated dispersion value, and correcting the estimated error rate calculated from the output of the detector. CONSTITUTION: A detector 1 applies the quadrature detection to the received QPSK modulated wave, and a clock generator 2 reproduces a symbol clock to reproduce the data from the output of the detector 1. The A/D converters 3 and 4 digitize the output of the detector 1, and a dispersion calculation part 5 calculates the dispersion (every N pieces) of a short time of the input data and inputs this calculated dispersion to a conversion table 6 and a statistic value calculation part 8. The table 6 converts the input data into a memory address and inputs an error rate corresponding to the dispersion of a short time and stored in a memory to a read control part 7. The part 7 calculates the dispersion of a short time of M times included in a measurement range. Then the part 8 calculates the statistic value for each measurement range of dispersion of a short time and inputs this calculated value to the part 7. The part 7 averages the input error rates every M pieces and corrects the averaged estimated error rate based on the average dispersion value of each short time.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce non-detection/mis-detection of a unique word and to improve the reliability by controlling an error permission rate of detecting the unique word in a unique word detection means through the detection of power. CONSTITUTION: An estimated power of a received RF signal being one burst signal from an RF power measurement device 6 is received by a unique word detector 5 to control an error permissible range in the detection of the unique word. That is, when the power of the received RF signal of the present burst is extremely smaller than the power of the preceding burst, it is highly possible that the data pattern sent in the preceding burst is postamble data, then an error permissible range in the unique word detector 5 is extended. When the power of the reception RF signal of the current burst is extremely larger than the power of the preceding burst, since the probability of the data pattern sent in the burst to be preamble data is high, the error permissible range in the unique word detector 5 is extended.
