    • PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having pill resistance, etc. and excellent thicknening effect, and suitable as fiber, etc. without causing the decomposition, discoloration, etc. of the polyester or the lowering of the moldability, by adding a specific silicate compound to a polyester.
      CONSTITUTION: A saturated polyeser, esp. crystalline polyester wherein ≥70mol% of the structural unit is ethylene terephthalate is compounded with ≥0.1wt%, esp. ≥0.3wt% silicate compound of formula M
      2 O.nSiO
      2 (M is NH
      3 , Li, Na, or K; n is 2W20 when M is NH
      3 or Li, and n is 5W20 when M is Na or K). The addition of the silicate compound is esp. pref. carried out by adding the silicate in the form of aqueous solution or aqueous colloid during the esterification reaction, and cointinuing the reaction to complete the polycondensation reaction.

    • PURPOSE:The titled fibers, prepared by copolymerizing terephthalic acid (TA) with ethylene glycol (EG), butanediol (BD) and a specific copolymerization component in a specific proportion, having special physical properties, and heat bondable to a polyester even at a low temperature. CONSTITUTION:Terephthalic acid (TA), ethylene glycol (EG) and 1,4-butanediol (BD) as principal components are copolymerized with (A) a saturated straight chain aliphatic dicarboxylic acid of formulaI(n is 4-8), (B) an aromatic copolymerization component other than (TA) and (C) an aliphatic and/or alicyclic copolymerization component other than (EG), (BD) and the component (A) as copolymerization components to satisfy the relations of formulas II-VII[formulas II-VI are copolymerization mole % based on the total acid components; formula VII is wt% based on the formed copolymer expressed in terms of the component (C) as the COOH and/or OH types]simultaneously to give the aimed fibers, having the heat of crystaline melting >=2cal/g, the minimal time of crystallization within 4min and a shear strength >=5kg/cm on bonding a polyethylene teretphthalate film thereto, and usable for non-woven fabrics, etc.
