Chelate resin, or ion-exchange resin, or a sintered body, which is an inorganic adsorbent consisting of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, etc., as a main component, or a sintered body consisting of magnesium oxide as a main component, or a sintered body consisting of aluminum oxide as a main component, or a bone black inorganic adsorbent is used as the adsorbent having the ion adsorbing function. The fibrous activated carbon can be produced by carbonizing pitch-based or phenol-based fibers and then activating the resulting fibers with steam, carbon dioxide gas, etc.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an activated carbon fiber molded adsorbent having high heat resistance and strength and excellent also in formability. SOLUTION: This activated carbon fiber molded adsorbent 6 contains activated carbon fibers as an essential material and fabrillated alkali-proof cellulose fibers as an enveloping material. The cellulose fibers are preferably polynosic rayon fibers or mercerized natural cellulose fibers. The cellulose fiber content of the molded body is preferably 0.3-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the activated carbon fibers. This adsorbent has a high rate of restoration of adsorbing ability by regeneration treatment because of high wet strength, high strength at high temp. and superior heat resistance. It can be used for adsorbing and removing trace impurities and harmful components in liq. and vapor phases, is suitable for use as the filter of a water purifier or an air cleaning unit and is fit to recover a solvent, etc.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a function to remove simultaneously organic substances, free chlorine, and lead ion in water by forming hydroxyapatite in the pores of active carbon. CONSTITUTION:Activated carbon in the pores of which fine crystals of hydroxyapatite grow indicates high selective adsorption of lead ion together with high adsorption of its pore surface. In order to make hydroxyapatite grow in the pores of the active carbon, after the active carbon being immersed in an aqueous solution of calcium salt to adsorb calcium salt, and while a buffer solution being incorporated as required into the aqueous solution to keep the pH at 8.5-9.5, a solution of one or more kinds of compounds selected from the group consisting of phosphoric acid, ammonium phosphate, sodium phosphate, potassium phosphate, and their acid salts is incorporated into the aqueous solution. By the utilization of activated carbon in this way, organic substances, free chlorine, and lead ion can be removed simultaneously and efficiently.
