    • PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration of image quality such as color mixture or the scattering of character by providing a pretransfer exposure means irradiating an image carrier with infrared rays at least before the re-electrification of a first color. CONSTITUTION: A photoreceptor drum 10 being an image carrier, which is obtained by applying an OPC photoreceptor on a drum, is grounded and driven to be rotated clockwise. A scorotron electrifier 12 uniformly electrifies the peripheral surface of the drum 10 to specified potential by corona discharge. Before electrification by the electrifier 12, infrared exposure is performed by the pre-electrification exposure means (PCL) 11 using a light emitting diode so that the history of the photoreceptor till preprinting may be eliminated and the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor is discharged. After finishing developing the image of the first color, an image forming stage for a second color is started, and the uniform electrification by the scorotron electrifier 12 is performed again. At such a time, discharge by the PCL 11 is performed as in the case of the first color. The discharge effectively acts without toner scattering because of the irradiation of the infrared rays.

CONSTITUTION:The fixing device is obtained by winding and providing an endless belt 15 between one roller 10 out of a pair of rollers 10 and 20 which are made to press-contact with each other through the surface of the belt 15 and a roller for carrying 14 at a position which is separated by as far as a fixed distance and providing heaters for heating 16 and 23 at least on one of a pair of rollers 10 and 20 and used for fixing the toner 52 on a transfer material 51 when the material 51 having an electrophotographic unfixed toner image 52 is passed through the rollers 10 and 20 and one part of the belt 15. Then, a transfer paper is electrostatically charged by impressing a high voltage by using a metallic substrate belt for the belt 15 or disposing an electrostatic charger 62 near an entrance guide 17.

CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a developing vessel which accommodates a two-component developing agent consisting of toner and a magnetic carrier with a grain diameter of 150-100mum on the average, the developing agent carrier being rotated in the vessel, the fixed or rotating magnet roll 1 arranged in the inside of the developing agent carrier, and the elastic pressurizing plate 4a arranged on the outer surface of the developing agent carrier and includes the magnetic material at least in a part of the plate. And the layer thickness of a developing layer carried to a developing area with the developing agent carrier and develops an electrostatic latent image on an image forming body is regulated under the influence of a magnetic force acting between the layer thickness regulating member 4 and the magnet roll 1. In such way, it is possible to obtain an image without base fogging and with resulting high density and visibility, and especially to obtain a clear image without color turbidity when it is applied in multilevel image formation.

And the layer thickness of a developing agent layer to be carried to a latent image plane with the developing agent carrier and the magnet roll 3 is regulated under the influence of a magnetic function acting between the developing agent layer thickness regulating member 4 and the magnetic roll 3. In such way, it is possible to eliminate base fogging, to obtain a clear image with high density, and especially to obtain the image without color turbidity when it is applied in multilevel image formation.

    • PURPOSE:To supress a toner leakage, to improve the efficiency of toner recovery and to obtain excellent cleaning recovery performance by recovering carrier stuck and left on the surface of an image carrier until the carrier reaches a cleaning blade. CONSTITUTION:Out of residual toner 11 stuck and left to/on the surface of the image carrier 2 after transfer and the carrier 8, the carrier 8 is attracted to a permanent magnet 9 by its magnetic force in case of arriving at a position opposed to a bias roll 1 and dispersed to the surface of the roll 1. Since the roll 1 is rotated in a counterclockwise direction, the carrier 8 stuck to the surface of the roll 1 is released from the magnetic force in the vicinity of a scraper 4 and dropped into a toner storage. Thereby, no carrier 8 reaches the cleaning blade 3. On the other hand, the toner 11 is carried to the blade 3, scraped by the blade 3 and dropped on the roll 1 as toner 7. Since voltage with reverse polarity against the electrostatic charge of the toner 7 is impressed from a potential setting means 10, the toner 7 is sucked to the roll 1, scraped by a scraper 4 and dropped to the toner storage.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the titled device from adverse influence such as toner scattering and image disorder by setting the potential of an electric field forming means to an approximately intermediate potential between the surface potential of a toner image formed on a 1st color on the surface of an image carrier and that of a non-image part. CONSTITUTION:A bias voltage to be impressed on the electric field forming means 1 in a cleaning means is set to the approximately intermediate potential between the potential of the non-image part and that of the toner image part of the 1st color generated when the image carrier 2 is passed through an opposite position to the means 1. Since the bias voltage has the same polarity as that of primary charge, the charge of the toner of the image part on the image carrier 2 is not neutrarized or reversely charged, so that the degree of freedom of toner is suppressed and the field is turned to a direction to suck the toner to the surface of the image carrier. Since the toner is not separated and scattered, the roughness of the formed toner image due to toner scattering can be suppressed.
