With such an arrangement, it is possible to get a high resolution, improve toner for a long period of time, to prevent dispersion of toner in stable manner and to prevent deterioration of plural copied images.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating application method and device which suppress the fluctuation of the film pressure of a liquid applied on a cylindrical substrate and suppress unequal coating by stabilizing the behavior of the coating liquid in the slit of the coating applicator and improve coating applicability, eliminate bead breakage and uneven film thickness, and provide the excellent coating application performance strong to the pulsation change of the fed liquid by preventing the outflow of the aggregate of the pigments in the coating liquid. SOLUTION: This coating method consists in distributing the coating liquid supplied through a supply port 48 from outside to an coating liquid reserving chamber 44, supplying the distributed coating liquid through the slit 43 toward the inner peripheral surface side and applying the coating liquid on the outer peripheral surface of the relatively moving cylindrical substrate 1. The absolute pressure P in the coating liquid reserving chamber 44 satisfies 3×10 (mmH2 O). The coating liquid supplied from the supply port 48 is supplied to the lowest part of the coating liquid in the coating liquid reserving chamber 44 having a sectional shape formed by curved lines. The coating liquid in the coating liquid reserving chamber 44 is forcibly fed through the slit 43 toward the inner peripheral surface side and is applied on the outer peripheral surface of the relatively moving cylindrical substrate 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fluctuation of application, defect of application, deformation of a cylindrical base material and generation of vibration from occurring by constituting an apparatus for gripping used when a coating liq. is applied on the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical base material by providing the outer face of the cylindrical base material with a plurality of gripping elements and hand parts for holding the gripping elements respectively. SOLUTION: A feeding means 10 for feeding a cylindrical base material 1 such as a drum pushes up the cylindrical base materials 1 placed on spacers 11 and 11C on a rotating table 12 by a pushing-up lever 14 through a pushing-up member 15 for the cylindrical base material while they are piled up. The pushed-up cylindrical base materials 1 are transferred to a carrying means 20 with an apparatus for gripping and carrying 21 and 22 and then, while they are positioned by a positioning means 30, they are transferred to an applicating means 40 and a coating liq. consisting of a photo-sensitive material is applied on the surfaces. Gripping members 214, 215, 224 and 225 of hand parts 211, 212, 221 and 222 on respective apparatus for gripping and carrying 21 and 22 elevate the pushed-up cylindrical base materials 1 and 1 by a specified application speed while step differences among the cylindrical base materials 1 and 1 are adjusted and they are gripped.
