摘要： PURPOSE:To filter the nonmetallic inclusions in molten steel and to clean the molten steel by disposing a tubular refractory material provided with many aperture parts on the side wall thereof in a tundish, and passing the molten steel forcibly through the aperture parts. CONSTITUTION:When molten steel is charged from a ladle into a tubular refractory material 6 provided in the molten steel charging hole of a tundish 1, the nonmetallic inclusions in the molten steel stick on the material 6 in the stage of flowing out through many aperture parts 6a into the space S in the tundish 1, whereby the inclusions are removed primarily. When the molten metal flows into an insert nozzle 8 after passing through the aperture parts 6a-1 of the material 6 in the upper part of the nozzle 8 and flowing into the material 6, the nonmetallic inclusions stick on the material 6, and are thus removed secondarily.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the title refractory brick excellent in corrosion resistance, by constituting the refractory brick of aluminum nitride oxide, graphite, SiC, components selected from Al, silicon and B4C and alumina based raw material at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:For example, a phenolic resin, as necessary, is added and kneaded with a raw material mixture of 30-50wt.% coarse, medium or fine particulate aluminum nitride oxide, 3-20wt.% fine particulate graphite, 3-15wt.% fine particulate SiC, 0-6wt.% one or components selected from fine particulate Al, silicon and B4C and the remainder of coarse, medium or fine particulate alumina based raw material. The resultant kneaded material is press formed and dried to afford the title refractory brick having the composition of the above-mentioned blending ratio.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a stage for partial pouring by a small sized ladle and transporting the same and to prevent the drop of the molten metal temp. before pouring by constituting refining casting vessels imposed to plural vessel imposing frames provided to the peripheral part of a swiveling turret near a continuous casting mold in such a manner that said vessels can be turned downward. CONSTITUTION:The swiveling turret 1 is disposed near the continuous casting mold 3 and the refining casting vessels 6 which can be turned downward are imposed on the plural frames 4 provided to the peripheral part thereof. The molten metal 11 received from a large-size ladle 12 is added 9 with an alloy in the process of intermittent swiveling of the turret 1 and is subjected to gas stirring 10, slag removal 13 and stagnation; thereafter the molten metal is turned downward in the pouring position and is poured from a nozzle 7 into the casting mold 3. Since the stage for transporting the partially poured metal by the conventional small-sized ladle is omitted, the drop of the molten metal temp. on route is prevented. The installation of a high-frequency induction heater 8 to the bottom of the refining casting vessel 6 to prevent the drop of the molten metal temp. is an equally good practice.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance the mechanical properties and anisotropy of steel products by predeoxidizing molten steel discharged from a refining furnace; supplying a specified amt. of a Ca-contg. material into a deep part of the steel to reduce the S content; flotation-separating Ca type inclusions; and further adding a Ca-contg. material during pouring. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel discharged into a ladle or the like from a refining furnace is predeoxidized, and a Ca-contg. material such as Ca or Ca-Si is supplied into a deep part of the steel in an amt. above 0.05 kg as Ca/ton of molten steel/ 0.001% of S content to reduce the S content to below 0.005%. The molten steel is then agitated or degassed to flotation-separate Ca type inclusions. During pouring the steel a Ca-contg. material is added in an amt. of 0.01-0.1 kg as Ca/ton of molten steel/0.001% of S content. By this method MnS inclusion can be reduced drastically, so the anisotropy, ductility, toughness, etc. of the steel can be enhanced.
