    • PURPOSE:To easily change the spraying rate and pattern of powder by controlling the injection timing and injection continuation time of the powder from each of plural nozzles disposed in the transverse direction of a metallic strip in accordance with the transporting speed of the metallic strip. CONSTITUTION:After the metallic strip 1 is passed through a hot dip metal coating chamber 4 having wipers 5 via a deflector roll 3 from an annealing furnace 2, the powder P meeting desired characteristics is stuck thereon by the powder injecting device 6 and the plated strip is taken out through an alloying treatment furnace 7 and a cooler 9. The powder injecting device 6 of the above-mentioned hot dip metal coating device is provided with the nozzle arrays n consisting of the plural nozzles Na disposed in the transverse direction of the metallic strip 1. Further, the on/off control valves V are interposed to carrier gas supplying pipes 17 of the powder P to the nozzles Na. The control valves V of the respective nozzles Na are controlled by a controller 10 in accordance with the transporting speed of the metallic strip 1 detected by a rotation detector 3a mounted to the above-mentioned deflector roll 3 and the injection characteristic patterns of the powder to control the injection timing and injection continuation time of the powder P to be injected together with the gas.

    • PURPOSE:To easily modify plating pattern and plating thickness by controling the supply of a molten metal to respective nozzles in plural nozzle columns based on the detected conveyance speed of a metal strip and pattern data. CONSTITUTION:A metal strip 1 to be conveyed via plural rolls 2, 3, 4 is passed via flattening rolls 5 through a plating apparatus 6 and a molten metal 13 in a plating bath tank 12 is supplied by means of a pump P and sprayed to apply plating to the strip 1, and this strip is cooled by means of a cooling device 7 so as to be formed into a plated metal strip. In the above continuous plating equipment, two or more nozzle columns (n) consisting of plural nozzles (na) having spray holes, respectively, are provided in the width direction of the metal strip 1 in the plating apparatus 6. On the other hand, a rotation detector 8 is provided to the above roll 2, and then, opening/closing control valves (v) attached to branch pipes 15 of supply pipes 14 for supplying the molten metal 13 to respective nozzles (na) are regulated by means of a control device 9 based on the resulting detected values of rotation and previously set plating pattern data. By this method, the spray timing and spray time of the molten metal 13 sprayed through respective nozzles (na) can be controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To produce a good-quality long-sized billet molding without generating joint surfaces by loading and packing a powder material into container molds and compressing the material by a moving mold from the direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the billet, thereby solidifying and molding the material. CONSTITUTION:The powder material 4' which is a powder or granular metal, ceramics or the mixture composed thereof is housed into a metallic mold for molding constituted of the container molds 2, 3. The moving mold 1 is then used and is pushed down to a position 1' from the direction orthogonal with the longitudinal direction of the billet to exert pressure to the powder 4' and to compress, solidify and mold the powder, by which the long-sized billet 4 of L/D>1 (L is the length of the billet, D is the representative length of the billet section) is molded. The solidification and molding in a reduced pressure or vacuum atmosphere is more effective at this time; the molding at the temp. below the solid phase point of Al or Al alloy is advantageous particularly in the case of using the powder prepd. by mixing SiC whiskers and Al or A$; alloy powder as a raw material. The long-sized billet is thereby molded without requiring joining in the molding stage.
