    • PURPOSE:To prereduce iron ore in the high degree of reduction without sintering it by blowing the fine powdery iron ore in a high-temp. fluidized layer due to a reducing gas contg. a nonviscous fluid medium. CONSTITUTION:A fluid medium consisting of the nonviscous fine powder such as carbon material and a refractory material is introduced in a cylindrical prereducing furnace 1 from a hopper 3 and simultaneously a reducing gas such as gaseous H2 is blown therein through the small holes of a gas dispersion plate from a reducing gas feeder 10, and a fluidized bed 8 which is >=700 deg.C and consists of the fluid medium and the reducing gas is formed in the inside of the furnace 1. The fine powdery iron ore is blown into the inside of the furnace from the hopper 3 by using gaseous N2 for the conveyance fed from a nozzle 4 through a nozzle 7 for blowing the powdery ore combining with a rotary main shaft of the stirring blades. The powdery iron ore is blown in flow velocity and below of the reducing gas incorporated in the furnace and a part of Fe2O3 is prereduced to Fe in a solid state with the high-temp. reducing gas and collected with a cyclone 14 without being sintered.
