    • PURPOSE:To obtain a sheet substance having no irregular color by adjusting a dispersion liquid having glass fiber and particulate thermoplastic resin dispersed in an interfacial active agent-containing aqueous medium, and adding resin emulsion into the sheet-like web obtained by paper making method in use of the dispersion liquid. CONSTITUTION:The glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin preferably used for manufacturing a structural member requiring high strength and high rigidity, e.g. bumper beam or the like is made in its manufacture by adjusting a dispersion liquid in which, at first, a reinforcing glass fiber of 20-70wt.% and a particulate thermoplastic resin of 30-80wt.% are dispersed into an interfacial active agent-containing aqueous medium having fine small air babbles dispersed therein. Next, by the use of this dispersion liquid, a sheet-like web is formed by a paper making method employing a porous carrier. Following this, a resin emulsion having a particle diameter of 2mum or lower is added into the web, and after heating, the sheet is treated to be solidified by adding heat and pressure thereto. As a consequence of this procedure, there is obtained a glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin having small strength fluctuation and irregular color.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polymer excellent in strength, heat resistance and durability by mixing a specific polyester with a diol, dicarboxylic acid, hydroxycarboxylic acid and amines in a specific composition, acylating hydroxyl and amino groups and carrying out polycondensation. CONSTITUTION:(A) A polyester expressed by formula I (R is p-phenylene, m-phenylene, 2,6-naphthalene, etc.) in an amount of 3-30mol% is blended with (B) 5-30mol% diol expressed by formula II (R is same kinds as R ), (C) a dicarboxylic acid expressed by formula III (R is same kind as that of R ), (D) 30-85mol% hydroxycarboxylic acid expressed by formula IV (R is same kind as that of R ) and (E) an amino compound expressed by formula V (R is same kind as that of R ; X is NH2; X is NH2, OH or COOH) at 0.8-1.1 ratio of the components [C/(B+E)] in case X is NH2 or OH or at 0.8-1.1 ratio of the components (C/B) in case X is COOH and hydroxyl and amino groups are acylated with acetic anhydride. Polycondensation is then carried out to afford the objective copolymer.
