    • PURPOSE:To suddenly reduce the amount of combustion, and to prevent such troubles as temperature of hot water supplied is temporarily raised and hunting of the temperature is caused, by a method wherein a reversely driving means, whereby an electric current begins to be applied to a reversely driving circuit when the difference between the number of preset revolutions and the number of actual revolutions for an air- sending fan is at a second definite value or above, is provided in a control device. CONSTITUTION:In a control device D, the difference between the number of actual revolutions NR detected by a revolution-detecting means D3 and the number of preset revolutions NS preset by a revolution-presetting means D1 is, for example, at 600 rpm. At that time, an electric current applied to a driving circuit D5 is stopped by a driving means D4, and the electric current is simultaneously applied to a reversely driving circuit D7 by a reversely driving means D6, and thus the number of the actual revolutions NR rapidly decreases. After that, when the difference between the NR and the NS decreases and becomes at 400 rpm, the electric current applied to the reversely driving circuit D7 is stopped by the reversely driving means D6, and the operation of the drive-stopping means D4 is simultaneously ended, and the electric current is applied to the driving circuit D5 again. As the result of it, the number of the actual revolutions NS decreases and reaches the number of the preset revolutions.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively deaden the noise of combustion without increasing the resistance to the flow of exhaust gas by providing silencing chambers which are defined by perforated plates forming walls of a bent duct for exhaust gas and are stuffed with sound-absorbing material. CONSTITUTION:In a hot-water supplier, a fan supplies air to a combustion chamber where gas is burned to heat water in a heat exchanger and an exhaust duct 27 conveys the exhaust gas to an outlet 13 to discharge it out of the system. At the exhaust duct 27, the sound of the exhaust gas, which includes the noise from the rotation of the fan and the sound of the combustion, is reflected by perforated plates 22, 23 and by the surfaces 21a, 21b, 21c, 21d of a partition 21 and becomes attenuated by interference with the reflected sound. On the other hand, sound components in a relatively high frequency zone pass through the perforations 24b, 24c in the perforated plates 22, 23 and the perforations 24a in the surfaces 21a, 21c, 21d of the partition 21 and become absorbed by sound-absorbing material 25 in silencing chambers 26a, 26b, 26c. Furthermore, the flow of exhaust gas undergoes constriction at a narrowing 27a in the passage and then expands at an expanding part 27b so that the sound pressure of the exhaust sound is also reduced. As a result, the noise emitted from the equipment through the exhaust outlet 13 can be reduced considerably.

    • PURPOSE:To lay bricks of a non-bottom sepn. type converter safely and efficiently by forming an aperture to the bottom of the converter, loading successively the bricks into the converter, taking out the bricks onto a conveyor rotating along the furnace wall and laying the bricks to the wall. CONSTITUTION:The aperture 2 is formed to the bottom of the converter 1 and an extensible and contractable guide pipe 3 is inserted therein. The bricks 13 are supplied in the horizontally laid state from a supplying device 7 into a lifting device 5 by a conveyor 6. The bricks 13 are erected in the device 5 and are lifted by an actuator 15 into a holding device 4 where the bricks 13 are held. The bricks 13 are successively lifted into the pipe 3 and are loaded into the converter by repeating continuously the above-mentioned operation. The bricks 13 are taken out onto an annular table 9 by a brick taking-out device 8 using a sloped plate 18 and a receiving plate 19 at the top end of the pipe 3. The bricks are further laid on the furnace wall 14 by means of a distributing conveyor 10. The operation for the brick laying is carried out on a working deck 11 and finally the aperture 2 is closed.
