CONSTITUTION:When steel material is hot-rolled to produce the hot rolled steel plate, high pressure water spray of 20-180[g/mm ] collision pressure per unit dispersion area and 0.1-0.6[l/(min, mm )] flow rate us injected on the surface of the steel plate. Austenitic stainless steel is suitable for the steel material. High pressure water spray of 60-170[g/mm ] collision pressure and 0.1-0.2[l/(min, mm )] flow rate is infected on an austenitic stainless steel containing >=0.06% Si. In this way, hard-to-peel scales can be removed surely without receiving operational constraint.

CONSTITUTION:The sheet is detected by a sheet detector 18 and an upper punch roll of pinch rolls 13, 14 is lowered in the stage when the front end of the sheet passes out of the device. An edger 15 is then operated. The rolling reduction of the edger 15 is controlled by using a transverse rolling down device 21 in accordance with a width gage 19 and profile gage 22 on the inlet side of the edger 15. The sheet material obtd. in the above-mentioned manner is rather built-up in the thickness near the part where the edge drops are usually formed. The good product is obtd. by subjecting the sheet material to cold rolling after coiling.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease edge drops by providing a recessed circumferential groove to the middle in the convergently ground area of a work roll and executing the shift rolling in which the circumferential groove is made coincident with the transverse end of a material to be rolled. CONSTITUTION:The single trapezoidal-shaped work roll 1 is formed with the convergently ground area 4 on at least one end side of a roll body 3. The recessed circumferential groove 5 is provided to the middle of the area 4. A pair of work rolls 1 are alternately disposed with respect to the circumferential grooves 5, 5 and are incorporated into a rolling mill which permits roll shifting. The shift of the rolls 1 is set by disposing the rolls in such a manner that the transverse ends of the material to be rolled coincide with the grooves 5, 5. Since the material 2 to be rolled is rolled by the work rolls 1 provided with the circumferential grooves 5, 5, the edge drops near the transverse end faces of the rolled product are considerably decreased.
