摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent executing trouble due to a binder system by kneading alumina cement by adding water to unshaped refractory, and curing obtained executed material at a temperature of a specific range for a predetermined time or more so as not to harden it on the way of flowing due to freezing or quick setting. SOLUTION: In the case of flowing alumina unshaped refractory for a ladle, water is added to the unshaped refractory containing alumina cement as a binder, and kneaded. Then, the obtained executed material is cured at an atmospheric temperature in a melted metal container at 35 to 75 deg.C for 10 hr or more so that the material is not hardened on the way of casting due to freezing or quick setting. Thus, even in the case of low atmospheric temperature, sufficient strength can be developed. And, even under the condition that an operation must be started in a short time, execution of cast unshaped refractory can be performed without a rupture in a main drying.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely reduce the damage by the oxidation of carbon in a carbon-containing refractory and further improve the tolerance thereof by coating a coating material containing a specific proportion of aluminum on the surface. SOLUTION: This carbon-containing refractory is obtained by coating a coating material containing 6-30wt.% aluminum on the carbon-containing refractory in 10-3,000μm thickness. The coating material acts as a coating layer, blocks the penetration of an oxidative gas such as air into the interior of the carbon-containing refractory and has effects to prevent the refractory from becoming weak by decarbonization by the oxidation of the carbon. Because, the aluminum foils present in a dispersing state in the coating material are strongly adhered to each other through resin component in the coating material and maintain airtightness up to about 600 deg.C. Further, at above 600 deg.C, the aluminum forms an alumina thin layer by an oxidation reaction and a dense layer are formed on the surface. Thereby, the penetration of the oxidative gas is blocked penetrating into the refractory by the aluminum foil and the alumina, and the oxidation of the carbon in the carbon-containing refractory is prevented.
