    • PURPOSE:To form a sand pile with an adequate diameter in a ground, by a method wherein an ultrasonic oscillator is suspended in a hollow pipe to detect the position of a sand surface, and the hollow pipe is lifted up as the oscillator is controlled so that it is always positioned in a specified level from the sand surface. CONSTITUTION:A hollow pipe 3 is driven in a ground, sand is charged in the hollow pipe, and sand is discharged in a ground 2 through the forward end 3a of the hollow pipe 3 as the interior of the hollow pipe is pulled off. Meanwhile, a wire rope 8 is coupled to the upper end of the hollow pipe 3 to lift up the hollow pipe 3. Sand surface detector 16 is suspended in the hollow pipe through a cable 17 so that it is always located in a specified level from a sand surface, and a sand filling charge amount detecting means 14 is additionally located. The lift-up distance of the hollow pipe is controlled so that, based on the position of the detector 16, the amount of sand to be charged, and the lift-up distance of the hollow pipe 3, the diameter of a sand pile 5 is regulated to D1. This procedure enables to perform control while a fluctuation in a sand surface is always detected.

    • PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect the flow state of sand in a pipe with high accuracy even under such a state that much noise is present in the circumference, by extracting a specific frequency component from the output of the vibration detection element fixed to the pipe for transporting sand.
      CONSTITUTION: A vibration detection means 4 being a vibration detection element using a piezoelectric element is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of a pipe 3 through which sand 2 is flowed down. The output of this vibration detection means 4 is inputted to a band pass filter 5 to extract only a specific frequency component, that is, vibration of 5W20kHz due to the mutual collision of sand particles. A flowmeter 6 displays information relating to the flow amount or flow state of sand 2 in the pipe 3 on the basis of said output. A level discrimination circuit 7 compares this output with a predetermined value to detect whether sand 2 flows through the pipe 3 and lights a display lamp 8 when sand 2 flows in an amount equal to or more than a predetermined flow amount.
