    • PURPOSE:To effectively utilize secondary combustion heat to smelting reduction of ore by fitting furnace top opening hood body integratedly arranging a roof plate on the top opening part, arranging a gas exhaust duct on circumferential side wall at the hood body and lining refractory on inner surface of the roof plate. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical furnace top opening hood body 1 having the opening cross section corresponding to the cross section shape of the top opening in the furnace is fitted on the furnace top opening part 12 in the smelting reduction furnace 11, and the roof plate 2 is integratedly arranged on the upper end thereof as facing to the molten iron F surface. The gas exhaust duct 5 is connected with the circumferential side wall of this body 1, and the inner surface of the roof plate 2 and the inner circumferential surface of the hood body 1 are lined with the refractory 4. By this constitution, the pre-reduced iron ore is charged into the furnace bottom part from a pre-reduction furnace 21, and coal and lime from a charging pipe 14 and oxygen from a blowing pipe 15 are blown, respectively to execute the reduction. Then, at the time of secondarily burning a part of gas generated from the molten iron F and having combustible component, luminous flame by the secondary combustion is reflected with the refractory 4, and the radiation heat is transferred into the molten iron F at the lower part and recovered. By this method, the generated heat by the secondary combustion is utilized to the smelting reduction without useless.

    • PURPOSE:To reuse the exhaust gas of the time when sponge iron is produced by reducing iron oxide raw materials such as iron ore and pellets, as reducing gas for sponge iron production again by removing moisture and CO2 from said gas thereby recovering its reducing power. CONSTITUTION:Natural gas 1 and steam 3 are sent into a gas converting furnace 2, where it is heated to around 830 deg.C and is converted to reducible gas composed of CO, H2. After this gas is dehumidified in a dehumidifier 7, it is heated to 700-850 deg.C in a gas preheating furnace. Further, it is combined with the heated air from an air preheater 9. In a gas partial combustion chamber 11, part of CO and H2 is burnt to 900-1100 deg.C and the gas is put in a reduction reaction furnace 12, where pellets, etc. are reduced to produce reduced iron. The exhaust gas is dehumidified 14 and preheated 8', after which it is partially burnt and heated by the high temperature air from the air preheater 9 in the gas partial combustion chamber 11', whereby the pellets, etc. in the second reduction reaction furnace 12' are partially reduced. The exhaust gas of this time is dehumidified 14', thence it is reduced of the amount of CO2 in a CO2 removing unit 16 to be recovered of reducing power again. It is then combined with the reducing gas entering the gas preheating furnace 8 and is reused.
