The concentration of the fragrance-reinforcing agent in an aqueous solution or dispersion is preferably 0.05-5wt.% based on the amount of water in a container for inserting the cut flower such as cut chrysanthemum or rose thereinto.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously increase the scent of cut flowers and further to improve the preservability of cut flowers by absorbing a specified water soluble perfume or the like from the vessels of cut flowers and exhaling the perfume from the cut flowers. SOLUTION: The water soluble perfume or water dispersible perfume composed of perfumes such as α-ionone, α-damaskone and damacenone having threshold value less then 0.1ppm is absorbed from the vessels of cut flowers such as roses or tulips and the perfume is exhaled from the cut flowers so that the scent of cut flowers can be increased. In this case, it is preferable the concentration of the water soluble perfume or water dispersible perfume is settled within the range from 0.05% to 5% when the quantity of water in a vase to arrange the cut flowers is 100%.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a plant aroma enhancer capable of durably enhancing the aroma of a plant, especially a cut flower and hopefully expected to be useful also as a freshness retaining agent for a cut flower. CONSTITUTION:This plant aroma enhancer contains a perfume glycoside of the formula (R is an aliphatic alcohol residue, an aromatic alcohol residue or an alicyclic alcohol residue) and/or a water-soluble or dispersible perfume as the active component. The compound of the formula is synthesized, e.g. by reacting 1 pt.wt. glucose with 2 to 20 pts.wt. alcohol in the presence of 0.1 to 10 pts.wt. acid at -20 to 100 deg.C for 0.5 to 24hr, removing the acid as necessary according to the neutralization method or the filtration method and recovering the excessive alcohol. In the case of a cut flower, enhancement of aroma is carried out recommendably only by immersing the cut edge of the cut flower in an aqueous solution of the aroma enhancer or an aqueous dispersion thereof so as to absorb it through the vessel of the cut flower. In the case of a plant except a cut flower, enhancement of aroma is carried out recommendably by applying a suitable amount of the aroma enhancer to the soil of an open field, a house, a pot, etc., in which the plant is growing.
