    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic having excellent hair-growing effect and hair loss preventive effect. SOLUTION: This hair-growing cosmetic is obtained by formulating a purified fraction consisting mainly of sesaminol of the general structural formula (the 2-position and 6-position each indicates α-or β-stereoisomer) or sesaminol such as 2β,6β-sesaminol, 2α,6β-(+)sesaminol[i.e., 6-epi-(+)sesaminol] or 2β,6α-(+) sesaminol[i.e. 2-epi-(+)sesaminol]; by the way, the above sesaminol is obtained, for example, by the following procedure: deodorized and decolored sesame oil (e.g. white sesame oil on the market) or a methanol-soluble fraction obtained by dissolving deodorized and decolored sesame oil in methanol followed by chilling the resultant methanol solution and then removing the resultant precipitate, is used as starting material and subjected to such a means as organic solvent two-phase partition column chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, molecular sieve membrane or supercritical extraction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair-restoring cosmetic safe for skins and having sufficient effects for restoring hair, preventing the falling of hair, etc., by formulating a specific capsaicin analogue, vanillyl amide derivative, in the form of its glycoside with a saccharide such as glucose, galactose, xylose or maltose. SOLUTION: This hair-restoring cosmetic contains at least one kind of glycoside expressed by the formula (G is a saccharide residue obtained from a monosaccharide or an oligosaccharide; R is a 8-11C saturate/unsaturated hydrocarbon). A vanillyl amide derivative for forming the glycoside is capsaicin, etc. The saccharide to be combined with the vanillyl amide derivative includes all of saccharides forming the glycosides, but preferably is a monosaccharide such as glucose or an oligosaccharide such as maltose from the aspects of easy availability, solubility in aqueous solvents, and endermic absorbability. The obtained glycoside is especially preferably a glucose glycoside, concretely capsaicin β-D-glucoside, etc. The glycoside is formulated in an amount of 0.1-10.0wt.% based on the cosmetic.
