    • PURPOSE:To supply ground water and to lower the temperature of the area by boring a large number of water permeable through holes and water holding non-through holes in a block of a material provided with specific water hold capacity, and laying it on the ground surface. CONSTITUTION:A block 1 is constituted of a brick-like substance provided with physical water-absorbing efficiency, such as a capillary phenomenon, and chemical hydrophilic efficiency and 5 - 15% of water-hold capacity. After that, water permeable through-holes 2 through which water on the ground surface permeates a lower layer and non-through water-holding holes 3 to keep the water thereon into the holes are bored in the block 1 so that they are arranged mutually in a plurality of rows at certain intervals lengthwise and crosswise. Boring is made in a state to incline to the extent of 245 - 60 against the ground surface. Then, the block 1 is laid on the ground surface. According to the constitution, the permeation capacity of rainwater, etc. is increased through the water permeable through-holes 2 and, at the same time, the water storage capacity of the non-through water holding holes 3 is increased, and the temperature of the area where the block 1 is laid on the ground surface can be lowered by water-holding latent heat of vaporization.

    • PURPOSE:To stay the rise of temperature on the surface of the earth with rainwater supplied to the stratum or being preserved over the surface of the earth by laying thereon platelike blocks each of which is made from a water- permeable member made of curable substance such as cement and a water- preserving member made of bricklike substance in minutely porous nature. CONSTITUTION:A square plate-like block 1 is trimmed in picture frame-like shape with a water-permeable member 2 made of curable substance such as cement having a number of thin through apertures, and the inside of the trimming is formed of a water-preserving member 3 made of bricklike substance in minutely porous nature mainly made of silty material. By laying such plate- like blocks over the surface of the earth, rainwater fallen to the surface of the earth is supplied to the stratum being permeated through the water- permeable member 2 and, at the same time, is preserved in the water-preserving member 3, which evaporates, as the temperature rises, the rainwater, absorbing latent heat in evaporation so that temperature rise can be stayed. Thereby circulation of water can be maintained, contributing to improvement of living environment in built-up area in a big city.
