    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottom-blown tuyere for converter with which since this tuyere has excellent workability and weldability, needless to say, and excellent high temperature oxidizing resistance, this tuyere has the effect to the improvement of the service life and as the other merit, this tuyere can be manufactured at comparatively low cost.
      SOLUTION: In the concentric multi-tube structural bottom-blown tuyere for converter, jetting oxygen gas from a center-flowing path in the inner tube and cooling gas from an annular-flowing path in the outer tube, this tuyere is constituted of austenite stainless steel containing 20-26 mass% Cr and 10-25 mass% Ni.

      SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method for steel, an electromagnetic stirring device is provided at a secondary cooling zone, which is a lower part of a mold, and continuous casting is conducted while electromagnetically stirring non-solidified molten steel. The electromagnetic stirring is conducted while cooling the surface layer part of a cast slab in a secondary cooling zone, which is an upper part of the electromagnetic stirring device, at a cooling speed of ≥ 5°C/sec.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of melting extra-low phosphorus stainless steel more inexpensive than the conventional one. SOLUTION: In the method of melting molten stainless steel, chromium ore and a carbonaceous material are added to hot metal charged to a converter type reaction vessel then, gaseous oxygen is fed thereto to subject the chromium ore to smelting reduction-refining; the obtained chromium-containing molten iron is subjected to decarburization refining in an another converter type reaction vessel to be made into chromium-containing molten steel; and the above steel is subjected to decarburization refining and/or componential regulation in a vacuum refining device. Before the decarburization of the chromium-containing molten iron, oxidizer-CaO based flux is added thereto, and dephosphorization is performed. An operation where, in accordance with the allowable amount of the phosphorus content in molten stainless steel as the object for a smelting reduction-refining charge on and after the next time, dephosphorization slag formed there is recycled to the smelting reduction-refining charge on and after the next time and an operation where a carbonaceous material is added to the dephosphorization slag, heating and vaporizing dephosphorization are performed, and it is recycled to the smelting reduction-refining charge on and after the next time are selectively recovered, and thus chromium oxide in the slug is subjected to carbon reduction, and the chromium component is recovered into the chromium-containing molten iron.
