    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold-insulating container for fresh seafood having a cold insulator that is for use in cold-insulating articles to be cold-insulated (referred to as "cold-insulated articles") having optimum temperatures in a range of 0 to 10°C exclusive and that is a container filled with a cold insulating agent satisfying characteristics: (1) a phase change temperature (melting point) matching the optimum temperature or temperature range desirable for cold-insulated articles, (2) a large latent heat quantity, (3) a high specific heat capacity in a liquid state of the cold insulating agent, (4) freedom from phase separation and performance degradation resulting from repeated freezing/melting, (5) the smallest possible change in the melting temperature, and (6) nonflammability; and a method for increasing the number of times that the cold insulator can repeatedly be used. SOLUTION: The cold insulator comprising the container filled with the cold insulating agent having a quaternary ammonium salt hydrate as the principal component and a melting temperature in a range of 0 to 10°C is removably mounted on at least one of a peripheral wall part, a bottom part and a lid part.
