摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume reduction treatment apparatus for objects to be treated capable of contributing to the efficiency improvement and cost reduction of decontamination work, by reducing the volume of a radioactive material, with which objects to be treated may be contaminated, without making it scatter, while sorting the objects to be treated into inorganic materials and organic materials, with a relatively simple structure that can reduce costs.SOLUTION: The present invention is a volume reduction treatment apparatus 1 that applies heat treatment to objects to be treated including at least inorganic materials containing soil and organic materials derived from plants to reduce their volumes. The volume reduction treatment apparatus comprises: a grain refining device 100 for crushing the objects to be treated to make them have predetermined sizes; a sporting device 150 for sorting the crushed objects to be treated into inorganic materials and organic materials; and a heat treatment device 200 for applying heat treatment to the sorted inorganic materials and organic materials separately as the objects to be treated. The heat treatment device 200 is controlled so that the temperature of the objects to be treated is not more than the temperature of the boiling point of a radioactive material with which the objects to be treated may be contaminated.
