摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air permeation testing method and its device capable of performing an accurate air permeation test without being affected by fluctuation in an air pressure for testing or in the atmospheric pressure. SOLUTION: In an inspection drum 1, a test pressure supplied from an air pressure source is inputted into one end of a double filter cigarette C. Also, the test pressure is distributed and inputted into an air pressure passage 46, and a fixed reference pressure is outputted from the air pressure passage 46. An air permeation test can be performed by comparing the reference pressure with an air pressure outputted from the other end of the double filter cigarette C, and a determination circuit 48 determines whether the air permeability of the double filter cigarette C is satisfactory or not based on a differential pressure signal ΔP from a differential pressure sensor 32.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cut tobacco feeder for a cigarette producing apparatus capable of reducing its winnowed amount without setting the second separator extremely small in degree of opening. SOLUTION: This cut tobacco feeder 1 receives a circulating air from a circulation system fan 20 while generating air streams therein via air blows jetted through respective air outlets 14, 16 and 18. An opening 68 variable in open area is provided on a sieve 42 of the first separating shoot 40 for introducing the outside air into the feeder 1. The velocity of the air introduced through the secondary separator 44 increases in direct proportion to how smaller the open area of the opening 68 is set, which leads to obtain a certain winnowed amount without setting the secondary separator 44 smaller in degree of opening.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for inspecting the cut end of a cigarette enabling the accurate judgment of the state of the cut end with a simple construction independent of the brand of the cigarette. SOLUTION: The apparatus for the inspection of the cut end of a cigarette is provided with a line sensor 12 to measure the distance XL between a filter cigarette S on an inspection drum 2 and a base plane BP, three pairs of displacement sensors 20a, 20b; 22a, 22b; 24a, 24b to apply laser beams to a cut end of the filter cigarette at different spots and measure the distance between the irradiation spots based on the light intensity reflected from the spots and a quality controller receiving the outputs of the line sensor 12 and the displacement sensors. One of the displacement sensors of each pair is placed on the base plane BP and the other sensor is placed at a position deviated by a prescribed distance (d) to generate the output corresponding to the distance between the corresponding same radiation spots. The quality controller calculates the distance between the former displacement sensor of each pair and the irradiation spot based on the output ratio of the displacement sensor of each pair and the separation distance is compared with the separation length XL to judge the state of the cigarette end, i.e., the falling of the attached filter.
