    • PURPOSE:To obviate an ignition device and to maintain combustion in an excellent state by providing a combustion gas generating means to generate combustion gas for both ignition and stabilization of flame of fuel-air mixture to feed it in a combustion chamber, in a device having a combustion chamber to burn fuel-air mixture of liquid fuel and air. CONSTITUTION:A liquid ram rocket 1 has a combustion chamber 3 charged with a booster propellant 2. A booster nozzle 4 and a ram rocket nozzle 5 are concentrically arranged to the rear end part of the combustion chamber 3 through a separating coupling 6. The front side of the combustion chamber 3 is filled with liquid fuel 11 and a fuel tank 12 the size of which is reduced through pressurization, a flow rate control device 13, and a fuel injection valve 14 are provided. In this case, a gas generating chamber 17 filled with solid fuel 16 serving as a combustion gas generating means is located on a machine shaft on the front side of the combustion chamber 3. The chamber 17 is provided with an ignition device 18 for solid fuel and a gas injection nozzle 19 for both ignition and stabilization of flame, and combustion gas is injected in the combustion chamber 3 through the nozzle 19 to both ignite fuel-air mixture and stabilize flame.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a sealing for a pintle and obtain a small- sized pintle driving source by installing a driving means which moves the pintle in reciprocation in the axial direction at the basic edge part of the pintle whose top edge projects to the center of the opened port part of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION:When the internal pressure of a tank 3 or the introduced air pressure varies, a gas generator 1 drives a servomotor 19 by an instruction signal supplied from a servoamplifier 27 according to a pressure signal B, and the position detection signal A of a pintle 12 by a potentiometer 26. The pintle 12 is shifted in the axial direction through a ball screw 18 and a nut holder 24, and the opening area of a nozzle 5 varies to adjust the flow rate for the combustible gas. Therefore, in a ram rocket, the combustion in a combustion chamber 4 and the thrust are stabilized by the gas generator 1. In the gas generator 1, only the top edge of the pintle 12 projects from a pintle case 6, and the structure in which the influence of the pressure of the gas stream is little is obtained, and the pintle 12 can be sufficiently driven by a small driving source.

    • PURPOSE:To preform the secondary combustion of a mixed gas, consisting of combustible gas produced by combustion of a sustainer propellant and air introduced from the outside, in good sustainment, as well as to improve the extent of propulsive performance by setting up a combustion delay part for high temperature gas use in a main combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:When an igniter 7 is set off, a booster propellant 2 is burned in a main combustion chamber 3, and this combustion gas is jetted out of a booster nozzle 4 whereby a ramjet 1 is started. Afterward, the booster nozzle 4 is separated off at a part of a separating joint 6, while a port cover 12 of an air intake 11 is opened up by a release device 13. In consequence, combustible gas being jetted out of a nozzle 17 and air taken through the air intake 11 are mixed together, and simultaneously this mixed gas is ignited and burned by another igniter 18, thus it is jetted out of another nozzle 5. In this case, a high temperature gas is produced at a combustion delay part 8 set up in front end of the main combustion chamber 3, thereby having the combustion of the said mixed gas sustained so well.

    • PURPOSE:To permit the quick and sure ignition of solid fuel by a method wherein an ignition charge, having a large igniting property by high-temperature air, is provided at the vicinity of an air intake for the solid fuel. CONSTITUTION:A propulsive projectile 1 is provided with an air intake 3 at one end of the outer tube 2 and a nozzle 4 at the other end of the same while a solid fuel 5, having a combustion chamber 6 in the inner space thereof, is provided at the inner periphery of the outer tube 2 and an ignition charge 8, having a large igniting property by high-temperature air, is provided on the side surface of a partitioning 2a, projected to the inner peripheral side of the outer tube 2 at the air intake 3 side of the solid fuel 5, through a restricter 7. The ignition charge 8 is bonded and secured to the inward partitioning 2a of the outer tube 2 through the restricter 7. When the ramjet propulsive projectile 1 is fired from a gun barrel 9 with a transonic speed, shockwave is formed at the air intake 3 and the ignition charge 8 is reacted easily by the high-temperature air of the transonic speed to generate high- temperature combustion flame whereby the surface of the solid fuel 5 is baked, the solid fuel 5 is decomposed easily and is mixed with the inflow high- temperature air thereby igniting the solid fuel 5 quickly and surely.
