    • PURPOSE:To automatically detect a wave on a sailing vessel by using a device of a simple structure, by detecting a water pressure by using a pressure detecting section towed by the vessel obliquely behind the vessel and finding various dimensions of wave information by arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:When a vessel 1 sails towing a pressure detecting section 2, the section 2 navigates underwater obliquely behind the vessel 1 and outputs electric signals after receiving water pressures caused by the underwater navigation and waves received by means of the actions of its shape, weight, and hydrofoil, without receiving any influences of the waves produced by the vessel 1 and irregular water flows 14 behind the propeller of the vessel 1. Noises contained in the electric signals are removed by means of a filter provided in a circuit 7 and, furthermore, DC components caused by the change in the sailing speed of the vessel are removed by means of a capacitor. Electric signals indicating variation of water pressure caused by waves only are stored in a storage device 9 through an AD converter 8 and, a fixed time after, separated into fundamental waves and higher harmonics to an appropriate degree by means of a high-speed Fourier transformation device 11 and outputted to a display device 10 through an input-output interface 6.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform the forecasting of a narrow region with high accuracy and good reliability, by providing a wave estimation apparatus for estimating wave data from the response of a ship, a sensor for generating marine weather data at the observation point of time and a forecasting apparatus for generat ing narrow region forecasting data by wide region forecasting data sent from the land on the basis of wave data and marine weather data. CONSTITUTION:A marine weather sensor 1 generates data such as atmospheric pressure, a wind direction and wind velocity in the vicinity of a ship and a wave estimation apparatus 2 is constituted of the ship motion sensor 21 and wave analyser 22 attached to the ship and estimates a wave direction, a wave cycle, a wave height and a wave energy spectrum. Marine weather data and wave data are hourly inputted to an operation apparatus 42 during the navigation of the ship. Because wide region forecasting data after 6hr and 12hr are sent from the land, these data are supplied to an operation apparatus 42 through a wide region forecasting data receiver 3. The operation apparatus 42 collimates these data with the data stored in a marine weather statitic data memory 41 and generates the narrow region forecasting data of the sea area where the ship will reach within 72hr.
