摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent generation of wrincles on an insulating tape, and to improve both mechanical strength and electric characteristics by a method wherein a superconducting wire composite conductor, having a rectangular cross section, is formed with a winding, and a piece of resin coated or impregnated elastic woven cloth is used as an interturn insulator. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting coil 1 has a superconducting wire composite conductor 5, having rectangular cross section, as a winding, and an interturn insulator 6 is arranged between the windings. An insulating tape, formed with a piece of resin-coated or resin impregnated woven cloth, is used as the material of the interturn insulator 6. By using the insulating tape having a high degree of elasticity as the interturn insulator 6 as above-mentioned, the insulating tape can be wound around the superconducting wire composite conductor 5 uniformly even when the winding, consisting of the superconducting wire composite conductor 5, has a sharp-angled rectangular cross section, and the generation of wrinkles can be prevented. As a result, the insulating tape can be arranged between windings in the prescribed designed dimensions, and high electric characteristics can be obtained. Also, mechanical strength can remarkably be improved.
