    • PURPOSE:To reduce the sputtering in the recovery process of atomic laser isotope separation and to control a decrease in the isotope ratio by setting a thin sheet or wire for impressing a positive potential on a recovery electrode between the desired isotope ion recovery electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A thin sheet or wire for impressing a positive potential on a recovery electrode is set between the desired isotope ion recovery electrodes. The plasma produced by the desired isotope ion inonized by a laser beam and the electron desorbed at this time ascends along with the atom vapor, hence the upper end of the plasma the lower end of the sheet in a short time, and its potential is almost equalized to that of the sheet. Since the potential of the recovery electrode is lower than that of the sheet, the desired isotope ion is recovered by the electrode from the plasma. The ion is recovered by the electrodes on both sides of the plasma at this time, and the ion is recovered in a short time in the case of the impressed voltage as compared with ion recovery by the positive and negative recovery electrodes. A decrease in the isotope ratio due to a charge-exchange reaction is controlled by this device.
