    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple constitution of a load driving unit which can surely get large power required for drive of a load from a capacitor and surely recover regenerative power yielded from the load into the capacitor. SOLUTION: The load driving unit possesses an AC/DC converter 2 which converts AC power given from an external power source into DC power, an inverter 5 which converts DC power output from this AC/DC converter into AC power whose voltage and frequency are controlled so as to drive the load, and a capacitor 3 which accumulates DC power output from the AC/DC converter 2 and regenerative power recovered from the load via the inverter. Especially, a DC/DC converter 8, which steps up and steps down voltage of DC power and regenerative power and inputs it into the capacitor and outputs it from there, is provided on the previous stage of the capacitor thereby widening the range of DC voltage added to the capacitor 3 and increasing the quantity of its input/output energy.
