    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for separating and recovering VOC, which can realize complete treatment not involving the occurrence of secondary waste after the separation and recovery of VOC, and a method for separating and recovering the VOC.
      SOLUTION: VOC contained in contaminated underground water is extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide. Thereafter, the step of extracting VOC using carbon dioxide and water alternately as an extraction medium is repeated under two conditions which have rendered the equilibrium constant of an aqueous VOC solution-pressurized carbon dioxide system significantly different. The repetition of this step can realize the concentration of VOC corresponding to the equilibrium constant difference, and, finally, a substantially 100% VOC phase can be separated. Accordingly, VOC can be recovered at low cost without use of any additional constitution such as an adsorbent.
