    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently decompose and detoxicate dioxins by adsorbing dioxins on an activated carbon by passing a dioxins-containing gas through the activated carbon and decomposing the activated carbon adsorbing dioxins together with dioxins by decomposition process including a hydrothermal decomposition reaction. SOLUTION: After dioxins are adsorbed on an activated carbon 1 by passing a gas containing dioxins through the activated carbon 1, the activated carbon 1 adsorbing dioxins is thrown to a slurry producing means 2 and the activated carbon is mixed with water sent out of a separator 4 to produce a slurry in which the activated carbon is finely dispersed. Together with a decomposition agent (e.g. an oxidizing agent, an alkali, agent, etc.), necessary for supercritical water decomposition and supplied from a decomposition agent supplying means 5, the obtained slurry is introduced into a decomposition reactor 3. Then, dioxins and the likes in the slurry are decomposed by supercritical water by a hydrothermal decomposition reaction in the decomposition reactor 3 and lower hydrocarbons are separated and recovered from the treated solution after the treatment.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously manufacture a slurry and to facilitate a regulation of a concentration by supplying a liquid from the midway of a screw pump, mixing the liquid with a powder, boosting the mixture, and lowering a pressure at a discharge port of its pump at once. SOLUTION: A screw pump 10 has a casing 12, and a rotor 13, and has a powder supply unit 14 provided at a suction side 11s. The unit 14 has a motor 15 for rotating the rotor 13. The motor 15 and the rotor 13 are coupled to a rotary shaft 16 through an Oldham coupling 17. Coal powder is charged in the unit 14, its powder is sucked in a gap between the rotor 13 and the casing 12 of a screw pump part 11, and sequentially extruded at its discharge side 11d. During this period, the powder is mixed with the liquid supplied from supply tubes 18, 19, and boosted toward the side 11d. When the mixture is discharged from a discharge port 20, its pressure is lowered at once, thereby generating a shearing force. Then, the mixture is thus fluidized to a slurry. Thus, the slurry can be continuously manufactured in a short time and can deal with a change in its concentration.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of the combustion ash of a pulverized coal power boiler easily treating the ash by introducing combustion ash from the pulverized ash power boiler into a compact gasification furnace and melting the combustion ash into slag.
      SOLUTION: A combustion ash treatment device 10 of a pulverized coal power boiler is provided with a gasification furnace 2 for gasifying pulverized coal with combustion air (and water) and melting combustion ash 7 by the heat. The pulverized coal is supplied to the gasification furnace 2 with a pulverized coal supply line 3a, and at the same time combustion air is supplied by a combustion air supply line 4 via a heat exchanger 6. The pulverized coal being introduced to the gasification furnace 2 is gasified along with combustion air or the like, and generated high-temperature gasification gas is introduced to a pulverized coal power boiler 1 via the heat exchanger 6 through a gasification introduction line 5. When gasification is made by the gasification furnace 2, the combustion ash 7 that is introduced to the gasification furnace 2 is melted by gasification heat, becomes melted slag, and is deposited at the bottom of the gasification furnace 2.
