摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold cathode-inlet and -outlet temperatures inside a fuel cell and a temperature difference between them to be same to conventional cells without cathode recycle, to reduce accessory power thereby to enhance plant efficiency, to reduce pressure loss in a cathode side, to raise oxygen concentration and carbon dioxide concentration required for a reaction, to enhance cell performance, to elongate a service life, and to eliminate a necessity of a heat exchanger for heating or cooling. SOLUTION: This facility is provided with a cooling plate 30 for a fuel cell inside a molten carbonate type fuel cell 22. The cooling plate 30 has a heat receiving space 33b heated by heat transfer from the fuel cell 22, and a preheating space 33a preheated by heat transfer from the heat receiving space 33b. Cathode gas 13 of a low temperature is preheated in the preheating space 33a, and then it is heated in the heat receiving space 33b upto a temperature suitable to the fuel cell 22 to be supplied to the cathode side of the fuel cell 22. For example, temperature difference as a whole is substantially treble by dringing a temperature of a cathode gas supplied to the cooling plate 30 to about 400 deg.C or less, cathode gas volume is reduced to about one third, and cathode gas recycle is substantially eliminated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance the rate of fuel utilization as a whole by removing the fuel cell reaction heat through heat absorption with the indirect internal modification action in each fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:Aa plurality of molten carbonate fuel cells of indirect internal modification type are arranged and connected serially, and a modification crude gas supply line is furnished so as to supply the modification crude gas to a modifying chamber 5a of an external modifier 5 via a modifying chamber 4 in a fuel cell or cells situated upstream and a one 4 in a fuel cell or cells situated downstream. The outlet from the modifying chamber 5a of the external modifier 5 is connected with the inlet to the anode 3 of fuel cell upstream, and the outlets from the anode 3 and cathode 2 of fuel cell downstream are connected with the inlet to the combustion gas chamber 5b of the modifier 5 through a catalyst combustor 11. Thereby the heat generated through cell reaction per fuel cell can be removed with modification reactions due to heat absorption in modifying chamber and sensible heat of the cathode exhaust gas. This leads to enhancement of the rate of fuel utilization as a whole.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve load follow-up property by filling N2 gas into a reformed original gas line on the entrance side of a reformer in sharply increased load on a melted carbonate type fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A N2 gas supply line 28 connected to a N2 gas supply device is connected to a natural gas (reformed original gas) supply line 13 on the entrance side of a reformer 10 so that the flow rate of N2 gas can be adjusted by a flow adjusting valve 29 through instruction from a master 30. A master 30 inputs cell load signals on a generator 31 and a fuel cell I, and when sharply increased load on the fuel cell I is required, the flow adjusting valve 29 on the N2 gas supply line 28 is opened through the instruction from the master 30 to fill N2 gas into the entrance side of the reformer 10. When the N2 gas is filled into the entrance of the reformer room, the supply of fuel gas reformed by the reformer to an anode is faster to prevent the late supply of the fuel gas to the anode. It is thus possible to keep the required amount of gas for sharply increased load on the fuel cell.

The area required for installing the system can thus be greatly reduced. Since the fuel cell I, the reformer 4, and the natural gas preheater 3 are disposed close to one another, the length of the piping communicating those apparatus to one another can be decreased.

The cell voltage is increased, and the power generation efficiency can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of high differential pressure between a reforming chamber in a plate type reformer and a combustion chamber, and between the inside and the outside of there former. CONSTITUTION:Pressure of a cathode outlet gas exhausted from a cathode 2 of a fuel cell FC is kept constant. A line 12 branched from an air supply line 4 which supplies air A to the cathode 2 is connected to a combustion chamber 9b of a plate type reformer 9. An anode outlet gas exhausted from an anode 3 of the fuel cell FC is introduced into the combustion chamber 9b, and the pressure of the anode outlet gas is equalized with the pressure of air A in the combustion chamber 9b. A reforming chamber 9a from which gas is supplied to the anode 3 becomes almost the same pressure as the combustion chamber 9b, and high differential pressure is not produced. Air introduced into the combustion chamber 9b is discharged into a pressure container 24, to keep the combustion chamber to almost the same pressure as the pressure container 24, and the generation of high differential pressure between the inside and the outside of the reformer is prevented.
