摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain an adsorbent having the adsorptive capacity equal to that of activated charcoal at extremely low costs, by drying and forming the sludge obtained from neutralizing the pickling waste liquid of an iron product. CONSTITUTION:The sludge obtained from neutralizing the pickling waste liquid of an iron product is dried and formed into an adsorbent having the adsorptive capacity equal to that of activated charcoal. Preferably, the zeolite of not less than 10% by weight is added to this sludge and this mixture is dried and formed into an adsorbent having the adsorptive capacity larger than that of the activated charcoal. Its manufacture process comprises using as a material the sludge of pickling waste liquid produced at an iron mill and adding zeolite particles thereto. The zeolite is supplied together with silica sol as a solidifying agent. They are mixed together and pulverized to an approximately 200 mesh particles and the zeolite is then mixed at the predetermined proportions. Water is added to such mixture and, after swelling, it is formed into a pellet form and, after drying, offered as an end product.

摘要： PURPOSE:To produce expanded graphite having superior characteristics conveniently and economically by expanding a mixture of kish graphite obtd. by the purification of kish to a certain carbon content with natural graphite by mixing under a specified condition, subjecting the mixture to oxidation and heating. CONSTITUTION:The kish deposited from molten metal is recovered in the form of slag and/or dust, purified by the flotation and pickling to obtain kish graphite having >=90% carbon content and ca. 0.1-1g/cc density. Then, the kish graphite is mixed with natural graphite in 7:3-3:7 proportion, and the mixture is oxidized with H2SO4, etc., contg. an oxidizing agent. In this case, >=ca. 95% conc. H2SO4 is used and chlorate or perchlorate etc., is preferred as the oxidizing agent. The product is heated under atmospheric or reduced pressure at >=800 deg.C to cause expansion. By this process, expanded graphite having superior reversibility, heat resistance, and chemical resistance is obtd. which is useful as a material for gasket.

CONSTITUTION:Vibration damping properties are given, by a method wherein steel sheets 12, 14 are stuck to both sides of an intermediate layer comprised of an expansion graphite layer 10 through an adhesive agent layer 16 and the expansion graphite is shut up by compressing the expansion graphite, in a composite metallic sheet (vibration damping steel sheet) of a composite metallic body. An adhesive agent is applied to the first metallic sheet 21 in an adhesive agent applying zone 22, to begin with, dried in a drying zone and feed of the expansion graphite powder through a hopper 28 and accumulation to a fixed thickness are performed at an expanding graphite feed region 26. Then prerolling of the expansion graphite powder is performed by making use of a roll 30 provided on the first metallic sheet 21. With this construction, the expansion graphite layer 31 molded by being rolled up to a fixed thickness is stuck onto the first metallic sheet by an action of the adhesive agent. Then the second metallic sheet 35 is fed and stuck onto the expansion graphite layer 31. Then press contacting and cooling control are performed through pressure rolls 38, 39.
