    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isolated nucleic acid molecule containing a polynucleotide which has a specified amino acid sequence or encodes a human T1 receptor-like (T1R-like) ligand I polypeptide. SOLUTION: This isolated nucleic acid molecule contains a polynucleotide having a nucleotide sequence of which at least 95% is identical to any one of sequences selected from a group comprising: a nucleotide sequence which has the specified amino acid sequence or encodes a full-length T1R-like ligand I polypeptide encoded by a cDNA clone contained in ATCC accession No.97656; another nucleotide sequence which encodes a mature T1R-like ligand I polypeptide encoded by the cDNA clone; a third nucleotide sequence which encodes a T1R-like ligand extracellular domain encoded by the cDNA clone; a fourth nucleotide sequence which encodes a T1R-like ligand membrane-penetrating domain encoded by the cDNA clone; a fifth nucleotide sequence which encodes a T1R-like ligand intracellular domain encoded by the cDNA clone; and the other nucleotide sequence which is complementary to any one of the above nucleotide sequences.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TNF-like cytokine involved in a pathological state.SOLUTION: An isolated nucleic acid molecule containing polynucleotide with a sequence at least 95% homology with the following sequences is provided: (a) a sequence encoding neutrokine α polypeptide having a complete amino acid sequence in Fig.1; (b) a sequence encoding neutrokine α having a complete amino acid sequence encoded by cDNA clone included in deposition to ATCC on October 22nd 1996; (c) a sequence encoding neutrokine α polypeptide extracellular domain; (d) a sequence encoding neutrokine α polypeptide transmembrane domain; (e) a sequence encoding neutrokine α polypeptide intracellular domain; (f) a sequence encoding soluble neutrokine α polypeptide deleted of transmembrane domain; and (g) a sequence complementary to optional sequence of (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) or (f).
