    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a component from being destroyed by the clamping force of a mold.
      SOLUTION: This mold assembly comprises a fixed mold 11 and a movable mold 21 constituted so as to be freely clamped on and separated from the fixed mold 11 while molding cavities 13 and 23 are provided to the opposed surfaces of the movable mold 21 and the fixed mold 11. A glass component 40 is held between the fixed mold 11 and the movable mold 21 and a molding material is injected in the molding cavities 13 and 23 in a state that a part of the glass component 40 is positioned in the cavity 13. Further, a support member 30 comprising an elastic material is provided to the opposed surface of the fixed mold 11 in a protruded state and the component 40 is elastically held between the fixed mold 11 and the movable mold 21 through the support member 30.
