    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dehydrohalogenation in order to prepare a fluoropropene represented by the formula: CFCY=CXH{wherein, each of X and Y independently is hydrogen or a halogen selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine; and each of N and P independently is an integer equal to 0, 1 or 2, provided that (N+P)=2} from the corresponding halopropane.SOLUTION: There is provided a method which includes a step of heating a halopropane represented by the formula: CFC(YR)C(XHR)(wherein, at least one of R, R, X and Y is a halogen and each of R, R, X and Y independently is hydrogen or a halogen selected from fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine, provided that at least one hydrogen and one halogen are present on adjacent carbon atoms) to a temperature at which dehydrohalogenation by thermal decomposition occurs with or without the use of a catalyst.
