    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal oxygen cell which attains large cell capacity.SOLUTION: A metal oxygen cell 1 includes: a positive electrode 2 which includes an oxygen storage material and uses oxygen as an active material; a negative electrode 3 which absorbs and discharges lithium ions; and an electrolyte layer 4 held by the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 3. The positive electrode 2, the negative electrode 3, and the electrolyte layer 4 are sealed and housed in a housing 5. In the oxygen storage material, an oxygen storage amount is enriched at the start of discharging. The oxygen storage material is obtained by holding a composite metal oxide under the oxygen atmosphere to perform heating process and adhering oxygen to the composite metal oxide. The oxygen storage material includes the oxygen storage amount ranging 7 to 60 mmol/g at the start of the discharging.
