    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of properly conducting adhesion compensation to fuel quantity to be supplied to the internal combustion engine provided with a cylinder recess mechanism to maintain favorable exhaust characteristics either in a partial cylinder operation or total cylinder operation.
      SOLUTION: A map for total cylinder operation is searched to determine a direct rate AFWOAC and a carried-away rate BFWOAC (S53). In total cylinder operation with FCYLSTP=0, the values searched in the map are directly used as the direct rate AFWO and the carried-away rate BFWO (S54). In the partial cylinder operation with FCYLSTP=1, the values searched in the map are respectively multiplied by correction coefficients KACS and KBCS to determine the direct rate AFWO and the carried-away rate BFWO (S56). Adhesion correction to fuel quantity to be supplied to the engine is thus conducted using the direct rate AFWO and the carried-away rate BFWO.
