    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing pancreatic islet cells in vitro for a long period without losing the specific functions. SOLUTION: This method for producing the three-dimensional aggregate comprising the pancreatic islet cells in vitro comprises a process (a) for preparing a honeycomb-like porous body comprising a water-insoluble polymer coated with an extracellular substrate, and a process (b) for culturing the isolated pancreatic islet cells on the honeycomb-like porous body. According to this production method, the three-dimensional aggregate can be formed without forming a single layer, even when the pancreatic islet cells are cultured in vitro.
