    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce environmental load and production cost by forming a folding fan only with a circle segment of a sheet of paper or recycled paper and with a pivot, in a manufacturing method of a folding fan without using bamboo or synthetic resin sticks. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the folding fan, pivot holes (3), (3) are drilled in a circle segment (1) and then, integrated paper leaf/sticks (2), (2) having the pivot holes (3), (3) are arranged radially and with equal angular spaces apart. The method includes; a process of forming the circle segment (1) by connecting the integrated paper leaf/sticks (2), (2) into one unit with folding-interlocking parts (4), (4) that interconnect these leaf/sticks (2), (2); a process of making mountain folds (5), (5), valley folds (6), (6), and additional valley folds (7), (7) on the folding-interlocking parts (4), (4); a process of reinforcing the circle segment (1) with integrated paper leaf/stick guards (8A), (8B); and a process of adjusting the pivot holes (3), (3) to insert the pivot (9) therein.
